UK homeowners will now have the chance to retrieve the excess capital taxes they paid when they had sold their homes in Spain after a recent court decision in Valencia favored a British couple in a tax dispute. It ordered Spanish tax authorities to repay them for charging a 35 percent capital gains tax instead of 15 percent.
External entities have long criticed the Spanish government for enforcing discriminatory tax laws against foreigners.
