RuralSunProperties Interview

Name of your website?

RuralSunProperties

Your name?

Jose Carlos Ripoll Garcia

Your Location (city, etc)

Cehegín (Murcia)

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We are a privately owned Estate Agency based in Cehegin (Murcia) offering you a wide range of rural Spanish property. Our sales team are local people with a vast amount of local knowledge dedicated to giving you the best possible service. Country estates at the best prices, including village and townhouses, villas, fincas, plots and cortijos. Enjoy the real Spanish lifestyle living between the local population, in nice small historical villages, perfectly communicated with the most important cities and in an easy drive from wonderful beaches and mountains.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

(I'm the webmaster)

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This website was first launched in 2004.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Rural properties in sunny Spain.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

It's offering houses in the nicest part of Murcia, the north-west region. The website has a clear design and it's easy to save your favourite searches. There is also an email alert provided in order to keep the users informed about their preferences.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

The goal of this website is to inform and pre-sell.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

This website has an important marketing function and is worked continuously. The results still might increase.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Adding a blog and a news section (about the region and it's folklore).

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, we would increase our resources that maintain it (human resources, financial,...)

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Headaches: server down and Google positioning..

What has been your biggest challenge?

Server up and Google positioning ;)

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

A combination of submitted URL's to directories and search engines, plus a regular key words revision.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

At first we focused more on the presentation and design. Later we realised the importance of content, usability and SEO.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Since 2004 until forever, we hope.

Replace this with a question of your own

How are things over there?

What is your website address?

RuralSunProperties
